Traffic Lights – 信号機や、信号無視 を英語で表現

信号機は アメリカ英語では traffic lights が よく使われます。
□ traffic lights 信号機
ex) There are traffic lights at the corner.
角に 信号（機）があります
traffic light (ˈtrafik ˌlīt): a set of automatically operated colored lights, typically red, amber, and green, for controlling traffic at road junctions and crosswalks
ex) A traffic light is a road signal for directing vehicular traffic by means of colored lights
traffic lights は省略して lights と 言われることも あります。
信号機は 赤、青、（黄）の複数の 灯り（colored lights ／ 色付き電球） で 構成されていますので、最後に s がつき traffic lights になります。
ex) The green lights are flashing.
信号で 緑の灯りが 点滅している
green light (ˈɡrēn ˈˌlīt): a green traffic light giving permission to proceed.
ex) Does the light take forever to turn green?

ex) The first set of traffic lights were gas-lit and installed in London.

信号機は 作動していません
ただ、signal は 電気工学 で 情報伝達のための手段としての電気信号 を意味しますので、
signal だけで用いると 信号の 赤い灯り が消えたり、点滅したりする動作を表します。
